Google's Contacts can be accessed in a few ways – from the main header navigation alongside other tools, the side navigation in Gmail and within Google Talk. Google makes a note of any contacts you have emailed recently and will make suggestions from within these as you start typing names or email addresses, when you compose new messages or want to share Documents or Sites.

If you are involved in a curriculum pilot on a restricted number of OU modules, you may also see a tutor group name automatically added by the system if appropriate for any use on a module. The group referred to by this contact name is regularly updated and will allow easier sharing or emailing to the entire tutor group if required, from within OU Google Apps, in addition to individually adding Google Apps account email addresses manually.

The standard format for this tutor group name is:

TutorName-TG-#####-ModuleCode
e.g. JohnSmith-TG-12345-AB123-11J@my.open.ac.uk

Please note that this tutor group name only works inside OU Google Apps and is not a conventional mail-list function nor an email address that can be used from outside.
