How to recognise links
All websites contain links, or 'hyperlinks', to other pages. It is these interconnecting pages that create the web.
- Many links are shown in underlined text
- Links may be a different colour from other text
- Links may also change colour as you move your mouse across them
- Clicking on a link with the mouse takes you to the linked page.
Sometimes when you use a link on a page it stays a different colour. This shows which links you have used. As well as text, links can also be in the form of
- buttons
- graphics
- plain coloured text or
- parts of pictures.
You can use your cursor to find out if a link is present.

You should also be able to find other links on this page including the OU logo (top left) and Search the OU (top right). The links Home, Assignments and Core Skills are also known as 'Tabs' because they resemble the tabs that you can find in organisers.
