For those of you whose progress on a course is being impeded by the difficulties they have working with numerical information. It will be particularly relevant for courses with little mathematical, scientific or technical content that still require students to work with charts, graphs and tables.
This toolkit presents you to interpret charts, graphs and tables. Examples are taken from a wide range of publications, and includes strategies for extracting numerical information and developing your skills of critical appraisal.
Note that there is a separate toolkit, More charts, graphs and tables, which deals with the presentation (rather than interpretation) of numerical information.
If you want to download the whole Working with charts, graphs and tables toolkit (PDF, 1.20MB) as one file, please note that it is 32 pages long, and the file size is 1.20 MB or you can contact your regional or national centre for a printed version.
Alternatively, choose the sections you want to download separately as a pdf file, for viewing and printing only.
