Are you ready?
Whatever you're thinking of studying (whether it’s the odd course or a whole qualification), the best place to start – for almost everybody – is with a Level 1 course. Level 1 courses are roughly equivalent to the level of study in the first year at a conventional university, and you wouldn't expect to skip that! Level 2 study is demanding, and we find our students are most successful when they've done the groundwork that Level 1 is specifically designed to cover.
However, for some students, with enough experience, it may be possible to start with a Level 2 course. If you’re considering this, do use the 'Is it for me?' guidance below. In addition, you can speak to an adviser.
Are You Ready leaflets prepared by the course teams can help you to decide whether you have the necessary knowledge and skills for a particular course. These provide individual course profiles, explain the demands you’re likely to face, and detail previous study that might equip you to complete the course.
