Faculty of Social Sciences
The Department of Social Policy and Criminology is an international leader in the development of written, broadcast and audio-visual teaching materials in Social Policy and Criminology. The Department's courses mainly contribute to programmes associated with the BA/BSc (Honours) Social Sciences with Social Policy and the BA Hons Social Sciences. They form part of a Faculty curriculum and culture in which great stress is placed on the virtues of interdisciplinary study and research.
The Department is also responsible for courses leading to the award MA in Social Policy and Criminology in the Faculty's Postgraduate Studies Programme. The department also supports the MSc in Social Research Methods.
We also welcome applications in social policy and criminology to study for an MPhil or PhD, as either a full-time campus-based student or a part-time distance-taught student.
