Temporary Contract for 24 months, Based in Milton Keynes

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer to contribute to the development of Politics and International Studies at the Open University.

You will have - or will very shortly receive - a PhD (or equivalent) in political science or a related subject, and possess a developing record of excellence in research and publication in politics. We are particularly interested in making an appointment in the field of comparative politics or the study of political ideologies. You will be expected to make a significant contribution to our introductory politics teaching.

Research Associate (ESRC); Faculty of Social Sciences

Temporary contract for 8 months, immediate start date; Based in Milton Keynes

Living Multiculture: the new geographies of ethnicity and the changing formations of multiculture in England.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on an ESRC funded project researching the relationship between the changing spatialities of contemporary multicultural settlement in England and the increasingly complex social reconfigurations of multicultural populations.

You will have a PhD in a field directly relevant to the project. You will require highly developed qualitative research and interviewing skills, a capacity to write well and an emergent publications record. You should have excellent communication and organisational skills. Experience of working with diverse audiences to disseminate research findings and a familiarity with web-based approaches to research collaboration and publicity are also desirable.
