Profile

Socio-Economist, with research interests in economics of gender, labour and household economics, fiscal and social policy.

Qualifications

PhD in Management and Applied Economics (2006) from Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) – Solvay Business School. MSc degree in Management from Université Libre de Bruxelles - Solvay Business School.

Professional affiliations

Lecturer in Economics at the Open University since 2009.
Member of the International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE), the Applied Econometrics Association (AEA), as well as of the network MAGE (Labour Market and Gender in Europe). Former member of the European Society of Population Economics (ESPE).

Course development and teaching

Chair of the presentation of the module Personal investment in an uncertain world (DB234) and member of the module teams for You and your money: personal finance in context (DB123) and Running the economy (DD209).

Research interests

Co-Investigator on the research project Gender and intra-household entitlements. A cross-national longitudinal analysis.

Previous research projects include Within-Household Inequalities and Public Policy (WHIPP) as part of the Gender Equality Network (GENet) funded by the ESRC (2006-2010); investigating parenthood and employment in Europe (project Pepsi, funded by the Belgian Federal government 2006-2008); fertility in Europe and the influence of employment conditions and Public Policies (project MOCHO, funded by the European Commission 2001-2004); long term care organisation in Belgium (2002-2003); Gender inequality in Academia (2001-2003).
