Faculty of Social Sciences
Welcome to Are you ready for DD101: Introducing the Social Sciences.
You will probably be visiting this site for two main reasons. Some of you may still be thinking through whether study with the Open University and specifically whether DD101 is the right choice for you. If this is the case we are delighted you have chosen to visit this site and find out a little more about the course. Over the next few pages we have developed a range of resources that will enable you to find out more about the course, hear some of the Course Team members talk about the course and discover what study with the Open University involves. If you like what you read and hear about the course, we provide the information and links for you to take the next step towards study with the Open University on DD101.
If you have already registered for the course, then your focus might be geared towards ‘Getting ready for DD101’ and ‘Frequently Asked Questions’. These offer some suggestions for things you can be doing before the first course materials are sent to you and guidance for where to go if you have any questions before the course starts.
DD131 Introducing the Social Sciences: Part One is the same as the first half of DD101, so, for those of you thinking about studying the 30 credit course DD131 rather than the 60 credit course DD101, the resources here may still be of relevance to you and we recommend that you work through them.
Enjoy the site, and we look forward to you joining us on DD101 or DD131.
With best wishes,
