Arrival and registration

Please note, there are two entrances to the Convention Centre; the main entrance signposted Entrance 1 on King's Road gives immediate pedestrian access to the Foyer; whilst pedestrian access to the Foyer from the Convention Centre car park is by lift.

Upon arrival, please head to the Registration desks on the level 4 foyer to collect your tickets, presentation card, post-ceremony drinks vouchers and souvenir programmes. You will also be given an information sheet with a map of the venue to help you find your way around. A preview of this is available to view here.

If you have any questions during the ceremony day, the staff at the Registration and Enquiry desks will be pleased to help you.

Please be advised that this ceremony is full to capacity and as such, there will be no tickets to available to purchase on the day

Academic Dress

If you have chosen to wear academic dress for your ceremony, you can collect these from The Queen’s Suite once you have registered. Collection will be open from 11:00 and all hired items should be returned to the Queen's Suite Foyer by 17:00.

Photography

The photography studios are located in The Queen’s Suite and will be open from 11:00. The service will also be available for a short time after the ceremony. Please be advised that there may be queues, so allow yourself plenty of time.

A photograph will also be taken of you when you cross the stage. This photograph will be available to purchase after the ceremony in Hall D, level 4 and online at www.edeandravenscroft.com.

The ceremony

The doors to the auditorium will open at 13:00 and the musical program will start at 14:00.  You and your guests should be seated at least 15 minutes before the ceremony begins. Your ceremony is expected to last approximately 1.5-2 hours.

Post-ceremony drinks

After the ceremony, you and your guests are invited to join the academic procession for a celebratory glass of sparkling wine or soft drink on Level 5, in Hall D or the Queens Suite on level 4. The coloured post-ceremony drinks voucher, which you will have collected from registration, will indicate where you should meet you guests and which area to go to.

Accessibility

If you or any of your guests have additional seating requirements to be considered for the ceremony, please telephone the Ceremonies Centre on +44 (0)1908 541079 at least 4 weeks before your ceremony date.

Parking

​The Convention Centre has its own car park underneath the venue with around 158 spaces and a number of spaces for Blue Badge holders. The entrance is on Springfield Avenue. 

You will also find another 1200 spaces in the Jubilee and Victoria public car parks in the centre of Harrogate, just a few minutes' walk from the Convention Centre and Royal Hall. 

Jubilee car park is the closest at just three minutes walk from Entrance 4 (Hall M), Royal Hall and Entrance 5 (Hall A).

Walking from Victoria car park next to the Railway Station will take around ten minutes to Entrances 4, 5 and Royal Hall or twelve minutes from West Park car park.

Refreshments

There are outlets where you can buy tea, coffee, soft drinks and light snacks in Hall D and on both Level 4 and Level 5.  In addition to this a bar facility will be available in both areas. All outlets will be open from 11.00am. There are also many restaurants, cafés, wine bars and pubs nearby.

Cloakroom

The venue has cloakroom facilities on the level 4 foyer. Please note that large bags, pushchairs, buggies, etc. will not be permitted within the auditorium during the ceremony. Pushchairs and buggies can be kept in the allocated storage area on level 6a.

First Aid

If first aid assistance is required whilst at the venue, please report to a member of venue staff.

Security & emergencies

Please note it is at the venue’s discretion to enforce any security measures, such as bag searches.

Should the need to evacuate arise, an announcement will be made and venue staff will provide further instruction.
