Grand Union Doctoral Training Partnership

You are able to view a limited number of pages of the Graduate School Network without signing in. You must sign in to access all the content.

On this page you will find current students talking about how they first made contact with the Open University about studying for a PhD as well as some practical advice on how to put together an application. Dr David Mills, the Director of the Doctoral Training Partnership, offers some background information about the training programme as well as advice on the application process. The Open University is particularly keen to encourage people who have been outside of academia. We understand that it can be daunting and that navigating university processes is sometimes not intuitive. So, please do make contact with the Pathway Leads, who will help you get over the initial hurdles. Details of our pathways can be found at Doctoral Training Partnership studentships - Social Science.
