Perry E Cycle Shelter Improvement Works

Alterations to the Perry E cycle shelter to provide a secure enclosure for bicycles and 3 No. motorcycle spaces will take place from 6th June 2013 and are expected to complete on 21st June 2013.

Staff are reminded to comply with any signage, barriers or other instructions issued whilst work is in progress. Access to the side entrance into Perry E will be maintained.

The cycle shelter will be closed during the works. The nearest alternative facility is next to Berrill Building.

This work will be noisy and may cause dust and some disruption. Whilst we will try and minimise any such effects there will be times when this is unavoidable. You are asked to bear this in mind when arranging meetings or events. Where relevant this has been discussed with representatives from affected areas. In exceptional circumstances, such as a major high-profile event, please contact the Project Manager or Estates Liaison Line to discuss any specific concerns. If you think that you may be affected by the airborne dust please discuss what arrangements can be made with your line manager.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused; if you have any queries please contact the Estates Liaison Line on ext 51000 or mailto:Estates-Liaison.

Update for Car Share Scheme Members

Following a request from members we have updated the guidelines on the intranet to reinforce that if you have not travelled to work with your car share partner then you are ineligible to use the reserved car share spaces.

We have had a couple of occasions where scheme members have not travelled in with their car share partner because they are on leave, sick etc. but have still used the car share bays leaving them in breach of the car parking regulations and liable if a fixed penalty notice is applied.

If you haven’t travelled with your car share partner then you aren’t car sharing, it is that simple.

Works are in hand to add four further car share spaces in the Church Car Park. This follows the loss of one space to create a safe crossing point for pedestrians. More details to follow ……

Faded Car Share Permits

If you are a member of the car share scheme and are displaying a car share permit that is faded, please email travel-advice@open.ac.uk and we will send out a replacement permit for you.

Real Time Passenger Information Latest Update

RTPI Sign

We have been notified that the Real Time Passenger display information is now being shown under test on the diplays at the bus stops.

Unfortunately as non of the buses that pass through the OU have the relevant software to show the actual timings this will mean that the displays will show as being 'in test mode' until further notice.

As far as we are aware it is only MK Metro that currently have the technology to allow their buses to be tracked.

The information regarding timings should be correct and in line with the timetables published on the MK Council's website.

We will endeavour to keep you updated as and when we receive information from MK Council.
