All websites contain links, or 'hyperlinks', to other pages. It is these interconnecting pages that create the web.
Many links are shown in underlined text, perhaps using a different colour from other text. Links may also change colour as you move your mouse across them. Clicking with the mouse on a link takes you to the linked page.
Sometimes when you use a link on a page it stays a different colour. This shows which links you have used. As well as text, links can also be in the form of buttons, graphics, plain coloured text or parts of pictures. You can use your cursor to find out if a link is present.
Note: See the example, above right, of how the cursor changes from an arrow to a hand when you highlight a link.
The masthead at the top of this site links back to the home page of the Web Guide. You'll find lists of links under the headings Top 10 tips and Browse the site. You should also be able to find other links including the OU logo, StudentHome, Web Guide, and Copyright.
