Hello Mike,
Having studied B830, I can see that there is a real benefit for students to utilise del.icio.us
I really like the way you have broken each section of the activity down into timings.
You may like to also add a link to the postgrad research support available from the OU library. Information skills for researchers is a website specifically designed for postgraduate researchers completing a Masters. It also has a useful section on mindmapping. This link also provides good help on students evaluating the information they find on del.icio.us using PROMPT. http://www.open.ac.uk/infoskills-researchers/

- Hello, Mike
I also chose to aim to use one of the activities from B830 to explore where del.icio.us could be used to enhance the activity. In my case, I chose Activity 5.6 from Issues and Approaches.
I think that B830 could really benefit from the use of del.icio.us.
All the best
Wilma
Hello Wilma and Mike,
Speaking from a student perspective, having studied the course - I would see no reason why del.icio.us could not be used more than once on the course - given the subject nature and also that the course is 1 year duration.
Cheerio,
Katharine
Hi Mike
This looked really clear for the student to follow and the rationale for doing so. Computer fatigue was a valid point; is this countered by really explaining the value of the activity or checking that the course doesn't use too much of one approach? Must admit my students' level of participation has never really exposed this problem!
Best Wishes

Hello Mike - I also think this looks very clearly set out and doable. I thought you missed referring to the video materials we have produced for SNPL, which i think you intended students to use for learning how to set up their del.icio.us accounts in the first place. They'd need something like that anyway. Mary --Mst3 10:07, 5 June 2008 (BST)
