A concert of music for solo guitar including works by the famous Italian guitarist and composer Giuliani, waltzes by the Venezuelan composer Antonio Lauro, some beautifully evocative music by the Paraguayan Agustin Barrios Mangore known as the Paganini of the Jungles of Paraguay(!) and ending with music by the Brazilian composer Bellinati.
Born in Mexico City, Morgan Szymanski studied at the Royal College of Music and Conservatorium van Amsterdam graduating with first class honours. He won 1st prize in the 2002 National Guitar Competition in Mexico and was the first solo guitarist to be selected by the Young Concert Artists Trust, YCAT.
Over the last year Morgan has been selected as ‘one to watch’ by Gramophone Magazine and BBC Music Magazine and was featured artist on the cover of Classical Guitar Magazine. Future plans include a new concerto commission with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and his debut at the Konzerthaus in Vienna.
