OU Carol Concert, Thursday 15th December 2005
As well as accompanying the audience carols, the Orchestra performed two movements from Dvorak's Czech Suite, and Holst's Christmas Day and Berlioz's Shepherd's Farewell with the OU Choir.
Orchestra Autumn Concert, 21st October 2005
The Orchestra's second concert took place on Friday, October 21st 2005
An ambitious programme of Mendelssohn Hebrides Overture (Fingal's Cave), Elgar Chansons de Nuit et Matin, and Beethoven 2nd Symphony, was played to an audience of some 170.
Open Day 2005
On Saturday, 18th June, a string quartet, the Enigma Wind Quintet, 4 x 8 bassoon quartet, and Kathleen Calder on harp kept customers entertained in the Berrill Cafe. A huge number of Tim's family turned out to support the bassoons - and probably to look around the Open University.
Orchestra Inaugural Concert, 20th May 2005
The new OU Orchestra, conducted by Bill Strang, played Cimarosa Overture to the Secret Marriage, Ravel Pavane pour une infante defunte and Haydn Symphony No 103 in E flat (Drumroll Symphony) to an audience of over 200 in the Old Lecture Theatre.
