Introduction

The purpose of this wiki is to collect together in one place all agreed OU standards for use in designing and building web sites and related assets. It is also intended as a collaboration tool to assist in establishing best practice across the OU.

The standards are proposed, recommended and created by the entire OU web development community. Anyone can comment upon or question any part of this wiki by starting or engaging in a discussion.

The Online Services team (in Communications) is the business owner of the OU web standards. The team is responsible for facilitating consensus, publishing the standards and for the maintenance and moderating of this wiki.

The OU web standards are based upon 5 guiding principles:

The standards are categorised into those most relevant to Design and those most relevant to Development. If you cannot find what you are looking for, you can search this wiki.

If you have not used a wiki before please take a look at the videos in the wiki tutorial
