Project: OpenWASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Ethiopia)

Description: 
The OpenWASH modules offer targeted learning to develop the expertise of WASH practitioners, and improve the effectiveness and sustainability of WASH projects.. Topics include:

  • WASH: Context and Environment
  • Urban Water Supply
  • Urban Sanitation and Solid Waste Management
  • Urban WASH: Working with People
  • Ethiopia's One WASH National Programme
  • Count me in! Inclusive WASH in Ethiopia

Collection also includes a Trainers’ Handbook that provides guidance on how the modules can be used in a variety of teaching contexts.

Audience: Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) sector professionals in Ethiopia.

Project: Rethinking Rural Sanitation​

Description: This course is about the design and development of rural sanitation programmes that are large-scale, areawide, equitable, inclusive, and sustainable.   You will require some understanding of the main aspects of rural sanitation programming.

Available Languages: English and French.

Audience: Practitioners in the water, hygiene and sanitation sector.

Project: HEAT (Health Education and Training)
 

Description: Blended learning guide and modules covering:

Available Languages: All modules are available in English and the three maternal health modules: Antenatal Care; Labour and Delivery Care; and Postnatal Care, are also available in Swahili.

Audience: Health Workers in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Project: Taking a pleasure-based approach to Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE)

Description: 
This course supports the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) CSE curriculum and is divided into two parts. Part 1 aims to help educators develop the confidence and ability to include discussion of sexual pleasure whilst Part 2 provides suggestions of activities that can be used within CSE sessions.

Audience: Health Educators and Peer support workers.

Project: Fleming Fund

Description: UK Department of Health & Social Care (DHSC) launched the Fleming Fund (UK Aid) to support low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) in developing AMR surveillance systems. These are two short-courses (24 hours each) on a) understanding microbial resistance and b) the power of data to tackle microbial resistance.  Although this is an introductory course to antibiotic resistance, it assumes that you have a basic understanding of DNA and proteins.

Audience: Professionals working in Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR).
