I have worked in education as a teacher and teacher educator, with my specialism being music education. I am passionate about what the whole education system can learn from Early Years, particularly the role of play in learning and in educational research. This is something I am currently exploring in my PhD. I have two children who I play and learn with every day.

Thanks Carolyn. I started my career as a primary school teacher, moving into higher education in 2006. In my current role as a Staff Tutor, I work with Associate Lecturers on three different Education modules, supporting them in their work with students. I also contribute to the ongoing delivery and development of these modules through working closely with the module teams. My teaching and research interests lie mainly in the area of the academic writing practices of both lecturers and students, fuelled by the firm belief that writing is a powerful and creative tool for communicating ideas.

Thanks Claire.
