It is fundamentally different to the question below (&#8216;drag and drop onto image&#8217;) which is\u00a0selected response because there are only a number of places where the labels can go.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/SallyJordan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Capture2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1365\" title=\"Capture2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/SallyJordan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Capture2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"617\" height=\"516\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/SallyJordan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Capture2.png 617w, https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/SallyJordan\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/Capture2-300x250.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 617px) 100vw, 617px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>However,\u00a0during this debate, my colleague pointed out that the boundaries between constructed and selected response question types are not that clear cut. In a sense the top image is selected response because there are a finite number of pixels in the image. Similarly if you ask a numerical question in which you want an answer that&#8217;s in integer between 1 and 9, there are actually only 9 options available to you.
