Almost 18% of OU students who graduated/qualified in 2016/17 went into jobs and training in Education (of the 10,000 who responded to the Destination of Leavers from Higher Education survey). As we know teaching is such a popular career choice for OU students we, at the Careers and Employability Services (CES), have developed a package bursting with resources and events relating to getting into teaching and applying for teacher training this Autumn\Winter.

Teach First

Last year our partner Teach First accepted 30 OU students onto their acclaimed Leadership Development Programme (a fully-funded, salaried route into teaching in England and Wales). Get first hand advice from a Teach First recruiter in our recorded webinar on Competency-based interviews.

Teaching Forum

Our Teaching Forum is available read-only so you can catch up with discussions from fellow students/alumni, Career Consultants and guest contributors from the sector and find out what you need to do next to land your dream job in teaching.
