Q61 Design and Innovation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

This degree develops your creative thinking, problem-solving and design skills. At the same time, you\u2019ll study a complementary subject that suits your needs and interests, equipping you to generate ideas and address problems in various settings. The design modules feature online design studio spaces, social networking, inspiring study materials, and practical components. You\u2019ll follow either the BA or BSc route, depending on your interests and aspirations.<\/p>\n

Stages 1 and 2 of this degree are the same as our Diploma of Higher Education in Design and innovation (W73). Stage 1 is the same as our Certificate of Higher Education in Design and innovation (T37).<\/em><\/p>\n

Design and Innovation (Q61) design modules<\/h3>\n

Common to both the BA and BSc routes are three design modules that you take at each stage of the qualification:<\/p>\n

Stage 1 Design Thinking (code U101)<\/p>\n

Stage 2 Design Essentials (code T217)*<\/p>\n

Stage 3 Innovation: Designing for Change (code T317)**<\/p>\n

Alongside these three design modules are a number of different subject pathway routes that allow you to enhance your design learning with other discipline knowledge. Subjects range from engineering, environment and business to arts, health and wellbeing. Further information on pathway routes can be found here.<\/p>\n

All students take a core of design modules:\u00a0U101 (stage 1),\u00a0T217 (stage 2),\u00a0\u00a0T317 (stage 3).<\/p>\n

Optional modules routes cover different themes (60 credits per stage of learning).<\/p>\n

For the Q61 BA route the pathway themes are:<\/h4>\n

Health and wellbeing; Management; society; Culture and aesthetics; Sustainability<\/p>\n

For the Q61 BSc route the pathway themes are:<\/h4>\n

Engineering; Environment; Energy; Interfaces and interaction<\/p>\n
