One of these may be of interest to designers, since it considers how studio pedagogy is becoming more prevalent, through the use of Virtual Studios.<\/p>\n<p>The report has been written in collaboration with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uib.no\/en\/slate\" >Centre for the Science of Learning and Technology (SLATE)<\/a> in Norway, and is free to download at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/innovating\" >www.open.ac.uk\/innovating<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The ten trends are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Playful learning<\/strong><br \/>\nEvoke creativity, imagination and happiness<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning with robots<\/strong><br \/>\nUse software assistants and robots as partners for conversation<\/p>\n<p><strong>Decolonising learning<\/strong><br \/>\nRecognize, understand, and challenge the ways in which our world is shaped by colonialism<\/p>\n<p><strong>Drone-based learning<\/strong><br \/>\nDevelop new skills, including planning routes and interpreting visual clues in the landscape<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning through wonder<\/strong><br \/>\nSpark curiosity, investigation, and discovery<\/p>\n<p><strong>Action learning<\/strong><br \/>\nTeam-based professional development that addresses real and immediate problems<\/p>\n<p><strong>Virtual studios<\/strong><br \/>\nHubs of activity where learners develop creative processes together<\/p>\n<p><strong>Place-based learning<\/strong><br \/>\nLook for learning opportunities within a local community and using the natural environment<\/p>\n<p><strong>Making thinking visible<\/strong><br \/>\nHelp students visualize their thinking and progress<\/p>\n<p><strong>Roots of empathy<\/strong><br \/>\nDevelop children&#8217;s social and emotional understanding<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The seventh Innovating Pedagogy 2019 report from The Open University highlights ten trends in teaching, learning and assessment for an interactive world.
