Trevor Herbert to speak at IMS congress

Professor Trevor Herbert will give the lead paper in a session titled ‘The Trumpet and Power’ at the International Musicological Society Congress in Rome in July. Also in July he will give a paper at the Historic Brass Society Conference in New York. As part of that conference he will also have a ‘conversation’ before an audience with the composer, writer, teacher and performer Gunther Schuller. Schuller is perhaps best known for his books on jazz and his performances with musicians such as Miles Davis and John Lewis on some of the iconic jazz recordings.
