Malcolm is a European Advisory Board Member of The Cheung Kong Graduate School of Business, an Advisory Board Member of the Government\u2019s Belt &amp; Road Expert Panel and the China-Britain Business Council. The role also provides strategic direction, support, guidance and constructive challenge to the University\u2019s Executive. Mr Sweeting\u2019s first task in his new role will be to chair the OU Council on Tuesday 5 March.<\/p>\n<h2>A shared social vision<\/h2>\n<p>Vice-Chancellor of The Open University, Mary Kellett, said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe role of Pro-Chancellor at the OU is very important, leading the University\u2019s Council, ensuring the highest standards of governance and promoting a collegiate approach to strategic debate and decision making. His commitment to our social mission and real enthusiasm for the role made him a standout candidate.
