Now it\u2019s time to discover the full story. Using never heard before cockpit audio, recorded by the astronauts themselves, original archive footage and cinematic CGI, <strong>8 Days: To the Moon and Back<\/strong> portrays the experience from the point of view of Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael Collins. From the perils to the excitement, we live the event along with the astronauts that braved the mission.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"8 Days: To The Moon &amp; Back\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VsUVdVqBOc0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>OU Academic Consultant, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/people\/ma3776\">Dr Mahesh Anand<\/a>, Reader in Planetary Science and Exploration at The Open University has been involved in advising and shaping production, as well as helping to curate resources on the programme for the university\u2019s free education resource, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.open.edu\/openlearn\/\">OpenLearn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr Mahesh Anand commented:<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cApollo showed that humans can survive travelling through Space, land on the Moon and return safely to Earth \u2013 it was an iconic time in our history and changed the way we think about the universe forever.
