The new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/courses\/nursing-healthcare\/degrees\/bsc-nursing-adult-r39-ad\">BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult)<\/a>; (in partnership with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdx.ac.uk\/\">Middlesex University<\/a> and the University of the West of England) was successfully approved with no conditions or recommendations on Tuesday 27<sup>th<\/sup> October 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Developed in response to a <a href=\"http:\/\/uk\">Health Education England<\/a> (HEE) tender, the adult nursing partnership will provide a new, direct-entry route for students wishing to study nursing in London and the South West. The partnership programme provides an alternative to our current nursing programmes which require students to be supported by their employer to complete practice learning in their workplace.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the partnership approach, the academic content will continue to be delivered via the OU\u2019s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) making use of our new Future Nurse Curriculum.\u00a0 However, the practice-based elements will be delivered by our partner universities in their respective regions, with students having access to their skills labs and educational technology.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/people\/jsw446\">Jan Webb<\/a>, Associate Head of School \u2013 Professional Programmes at the OU, said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThe Open University is very excited to be part of this high-profile innovative approach to nurse education.\u00a0 We are delighted to be working with our partners, Middlesex University and the University of the West of England, to deliver a unique programme that will enable wider access to nursing whilst equipping the future nurse with the skills required to deliver high quality care in the technological environment of the 21st\u00a0Century.
