Hosted by the Foreign, Commonwealth &amp; Development Office and the World Bank, the panel will review and assess evidence-based and cost effective practices to improve education outcomes and help policymakers in low- and middle income countries make decisions.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Akyeampong will share co-hosting responsibilities with <a href=\"https:\/\/economics.mit.edu\/faculty\/banerjee\">Professor Abhijit Banerjee<\/a>, International Professor of Economics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The panel is made up of 10 other experts in education, including\u00a0economists, educationalists, psychologists, and policymakers.<\/p>\n<p>With a background in working with African education systems, from political economy of reform, teacher training to complementary basic education, Professor Akyeampong will play a leading role in the panel.<\/p>\n<p>Professor Akyeampong, commented:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cI am delighted to be appointed co-chair of the Global Education Evidence Advisory Panel. The GEEAP plays an important role in ensuring that the best global evidence in education is assembled for low-and middle-income countries to deliver quality education.
