The OU has won two awards at this year&#8217;s event \u2013 the Broadcast Award for BBC\/ OU co-production,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/connect.open.ac.uk\/health-wellbeing-and-sports\/surrogates\"><em>Surrogates<\/em><\/a> and the Educational Film Award for its part in the film, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.open.edu\/openlearn\/language-of-protest\"><em>The Language of Protest<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Surrogates<\/em> followed the experiences of five women as they embark on the complex journey of trying to have babies for other people. <a href=\"https:\/\/wels.open.ac.uk\/people\/lh22784\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professor Lesley Hoggart<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wels.open.ac.uk\/people\/se2445\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Professor Sarah Earle<\/a> from the School of Health, Wellbeing and Social Care (HWSC) were academic consultants on the series, helping to uncover taboos around the controversial subject.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_21010\" style=\"width: 213px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21010\" class=\"wp-image-21010 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Caroline-e1651661684461-300x295.jpg\" alt=\"Dr Caroline Ogilvie\" width=\"203\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Caroline-e1651661684461-300x295.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/Caroline-e1651661684461.jpg 494w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 203px) 100vw, 203px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-21010\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Dr Caroline Ogilvie<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>Dr Caroline Ogilvie, Head of Broadcast &amp; Partnerships commented on the win: <\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIt\u2019s wonderful to win the Broadcast Award for &#8216;Surrogates&#8217;.
