Our youngest ever OU Law graduate Krishangi Meshram is in the record books again \u2013 qualifying as the youngest solicitor in England and Wales in recent times.<\/p>\n

Still only 21, Krishangi recently qualified as a lawyer and had her history-making milestone featured in The Law Society Gazette<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(bottom of page 11<\/em>).<\/p>\n

Krishangi completed her LPC and Masters<\/p><\/div>\n

The young scholar-turned-solicitor, who lives in UAE, began her studies with The Open University at just 15 years old. Three years later she gained a First Class Honours Degree in Law, aged just 18<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was during her Year 3 practical modules in Law that Krishangi considered what she wanted to do in the future, she says, and when she realised that becoming a lawyer was truly going to be \u201cher thing\u201d.<\/p>\n

She gained a first-class degree in 2022 before attending an OU graduation ceremony in Manchester late last year.<\/p>\n

Krishangi said:<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m incredibly thankful that The Open University gave me the opportunity to begin my LLB studies at the age of 15. It was during my studies that I not only laid the academic foundation for my legal career but also discovered a deep and lasting passion for the law.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe flexibility, accessibility and unwavering support offered by the University \u2013 including my tutors who carefully guided me with patience and expertise \u2013 empowered me to pursue my ambitions with confidence and determination.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Open University didn\u2019t just help me start my studies \u2013 it helped me believe in my potential. For that, I will always be grateful. Thank you for being such an integral part of my journey.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Learning at a distance with the OU, she says she also got a whole lot more.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t realise that I\u2019d be gaining the valuable skills that the OU taught me, from self-discipline to organisation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Her next step she says will be to explore the legal dimensions of emerging digital technologies such as fintech, blockchains and AI and she aspires to work for leading law firms in the UK or UAE.<\/p>\n
