{"id":28367,"date":"2026-04-24T13:01:53","date_gmt":"2026-04-24T12:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/news\/?p=28367"},"modified":"2026-04-24T16:13:09","modified_gmt":"2026-04-24T15:13:09","slug":"five-years-on-i-made-it-at-market-revisits-makers-business-journeys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/news\/business-law\/five-years-on-i-made-it-at-market-revisits-makers-business-journeys\/","title":{"rendered":"Five years on: I Made It at Market revisits makers\u2019 business journeys"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new BBC One series, <strong><em>I Made It at Market<\/em><\/strong>, revisits former participants from <strong><em>Make It at Market<\/em><\/strong> to explore how their businesses have developed around five years after taking part.<\/p>\n<p>The 10 episode series began on <span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Tuesday<\/span> 7 April, airing weekday afternoons for a fortnight on BBC One, with all episodes available on BBC iPlayer. Rather than introducing a new cohort of makers at the starting line, the series looks back at how previous participants have fared, focusing on real\u2011world outcomes: which advice genuinely made a difference over time, what proved harder than expected, and where business owners had to adapt or pivot as circumstances changed.<\/p>\n<p>The series was supported by\u00a0Dr\u00a0Aqueel\u00a0Wahga, Senior Lecturer in Management\u00a0and Liz\u00a0Moody, Head of Department, PuLSE in The OU Business School who provided the academic expertise for the programme<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>On working on the series, Liz Moody said<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;It\u2019s been a pleasure watching how these very skilled and talented crafters translate their passion projects into businesses.
