More than 430 employers submitted entries to the 2017 index, across the public, private and third sectors.<\/p>\n<p>The OU is now ranked as the 93<sup>rd<\/sup> best place to work in Britain \u2013 a rise of 37 places on the 2016 index, and the first year the OU has gained a spot in the\u00a0top 100.<\/p>\n<p>Open University LGBT Champion, Professor Simon Kelley, said: &#8220;This achievement is recognition of our institution\u2019s progress on embedding equality \u2013 in the last 18 months we have made huge strides in ensuring that our systems and processes sustain an inclusive environment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As part of the index, Open University staff provided anonymous feedback directly to Stonewall, on the OU\u2019s culture and approach to inclusivity.<\/p>\n<p>The index is a benchmarking tool demonstrating an organisation\u2019s performance against a set of best practice criteria.
