International Conference: MOOCs, language learning and mobility –\u00a0 design, integration, reuse<\/h1>\n

25-26th October 2019, The Open University, Milton Keynes, UK<\/h1>\n

<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>The School of Languages and Applied Linguistics at The Open University (UK), as one of the partners of the project “LMOOCs for university students on the move” (MOOC2Move) funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, will host an international conference on \u2018MOOCs, language learning and mobility: design, integration, reuse\u2019. The conference will take place at The Open University, Milton Keynes, UK, on 25th and 26th October 2019.<\/p>\n

Call for papers\u00a0(deadline: 31 May 2019)<\/strong><\/p>\n

We invite proposals including research-related papers, presentations of case studies and projects as well as posters on the subject of\u00a0LMOOCs (Language MOOCs), including language learning and teaching with MOOCs; OER\/ OEP for language learning and teaching; and MOOCs and student mobility<\/strong>. Topics include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n

  1. Current trends in LMOOCs<\/li>\n
  2. OER \/ OEP for language learning and teaching<\/li>\n
  3. Pedagogical approaches in language MOOCs<\/li>\n
  4. Designing LMOOCs<\/li>\n
  5. Synergies between LMOOCs and OER\/OEP<\/li>\n
  6. LMOOCs and skills development<\/li>\n
  7. LMOOCS and (student) mobility<\/li>\n
  8. LMOOCs and learners\u2019 motivation and achievement<\/li>\n
  9. The role of the teacher in LMOOCs<\/li>\n
  10. Assessing students\u2019 linguistic competence in MOOCs<\/li>\n
  11. Researching LMOOCs<\/li>\n
  12. MOOCs and OERs for language teachers: new tools for professional development<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    We welcome proposals from researchers, practitioners and doctoral students.<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Abstracts are invited for a 20-minute presentation or a poster. Please send your abstracts (specifying whether it is a presentation or a poster) in a titled attachment of not more than 300 words in length, with name, address and affiliation. Email the abstract to: Ou-mooc2move@open.ac.uk<\/a> by 31 May 2019<\/strong> and we will notify you by 10th\u00a0June.<\/p>\n

    We plan to publish <\/strong>a selection of papers in a monograph. Details about how to submit the full paper will be announced in due course.<\/p>\n
