In 2020 openTEL has initiated a project to better map out the different ethical concerns that surround many different aspects of TEL: from data security to ensuring inclusion and accessibility concerns have been considered. This project is being led by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/people\/sm577\">Professor Shailey Minocha<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/iet.open.ac.uk\/people\/victoria.murphy\">Dr Victoria Murphy<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/iet.open.ac.uk\/people\/eileen.scanlon\">Professor Eileen Scanlon<\/a>. Planned activities include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Creating an online environment for inter-disciplinary discussions on ethics in TEL research at the Open University<\/li>\n<li>Attending various TEL ethics related events<\/li>\n<li>Organising an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/evidence-cafes\/\">Evidence Cafe<\/a>, bringing together various experts on TEL and ethics to map out areas of focus<\/li>\n<li>Publishing guidelines on ethical considerations in TEL<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you would like to get involved in the project please send an email to <a>opentel@open.ac.uk<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A common theme across many openTEL interests is ethics.
