Dr Trevor Collins, The Open University<\/p><\/div>\n

Trevor Collins and I led a workshop session at the NCCPE<\/a>‘s Engage 2014<\/a> conference this week.<\/p>\n

The session builds on our work on digital tools for communication and engagement\u00a0<\/a>with the Open University’s Catalyst for Public Engagement with Research<\/a>.<\/p>\n


\nIn the workshop, we encouraged participants to discuss the potential for digital forms of communication to support and create opportunities for engaged research. We explored\u00a0the issues, personal attributes and skills that individual researchers or research teams may need to consider when undertaking digital engagement. Participants had the opportunity to\u00a0review their individual capacity to engage, how they can benefit from the capacities of their peers and collaborators, and the institutional support needed to promote effective online engagement.<\/p>\n
