In this new context, being responsive to students\u2019 views about their learning and fun is an important part of developing online pedagogies that might support learner well-being<\/em>. (Okada, 2020).<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Objectives<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>OLAF\u00a0 project\u00a0 has three objectives:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>to refine and localise a self-reflective instrument for\u00a0 generating a large database globally;<\/li>\n<li>to cocreate a set of recommendations for innovating pedagogical practices;<\/li>\n<li>to increase the number of research studies and projects about fun in learning for promoting changes in the educational curriculum, practices, and policies.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2><strong>Methodology<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Our approach is underpinned by Responsible Research and Innovation and open data. The RRI principles adopted to support our methodology are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Diversity and inclusion:<\/em> the study engages distinctive societal actors: students, teaching staff, educational researchers, professionals, and local policymakers.<\/li>\n<li><em>Transparency and openness:<\/em> objectives, methodology, database, and preliminary and final findings are open to all participants<\/li>\n<li><em>Anticipation and reflexivity:<\/em> all participants are informed about no implications for (non) participation; open data are generated through a self-reflective instrument<\/li>\n<li><em>Adaptation and responsiveness<\/em>: a variety of approaches are adopted and adapted to engage participants in terms of age, gender, and nationality.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A self-reflective instrument underpinned by previous studies (Sheehy et. al., 2019a; Sheehy et. al. 2019b) was designed to increase students\u2019 awareness of their epistemic beliefs and their views about online learning\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">and\u00a0&#8220;fun&#8221;<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>This self-reflective instrument was translated and adapted to various countries .<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>April -Nov2020:\u00a0 Data Generated with\u00a0<strong>OpenLearn\u00a0 Learners\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/openeducation.eu.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_1FUegeIBuPcpwfH\" onclick=\"javascript:urchinTracker ('\/outbound\/article\/openeducation.eu.qualtrics.com');\">English Questionnaire\u00a0 <\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Jun &#8211; July2020:\u00a0 \u00a0Data Generated with\u00a0<strong>Colearn Community<br \/>\n<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/openeducation.eu.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_0lfJjDVFY0d9Ihv\" onclick=\"javascript:urchinTracker ('\/outbound\/article\/openeducation.eu.qualtrics.com');\">Portuguese Brazil Questionnaire<\/a><\/li>\n<li>September-October2020:\u00a0\u00a0Data Generated with <strong>UA network<br \/>\n<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/openeducation.eu.qualtrics.com\/jfe\/form\/SV_6nuCOCpW1huVN41\" onclick=\"javascript:urchinTracker ('\/outbound\/article\/openeducation.eu.qualtrics.com');\">Portuguese Portugal Questionnaire<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Our findings will be used to provide recommendations to teaching staff, curriculum designers, and project teams to support students\u2019 enjoyment with learning enhanced by technologies.
