{"id":459,"date":"2021-04-24T14:12:24","date_gmt":"2021-04-24T13:12:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/rumpus\/?p=459"},"modified":"2021-05-24T14:32:39","modified_gmt":"2021-05-24T13:32:39","slug":"rumpus-blog-celebrates-1-year-with-a-new-project-fromblog2book","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/rumpus\/index.php\/2021\/04\/24\/rumpus-blog-celebrates-1-year-with-a-new-project-fromblog2book\/","title":{"rendered":"RUMPUS BLOG celebrates 1 year with a new project: fromBLOG2book!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">By Alexandra Okada<\/p>\n<p>The Rumpus Blog\u00a0 launched in April 2020\u00a0<span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">\u00a0was designed as an interactive dialogical space to engage many communities, networks, and institutions to discuss fun and learning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Underpinned by the Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), our aim is to establish communication with a diversity of participants across the globe including professionals, researchers, students, teaching staff, consultants\/entrepreneurs, and individuals interested in exploring, understanding, and discussing fun in education.<\/p>\n<p>This multimedia blog in WordPress linked to Google Analytics includes a variety of interactive components such as videoclips, 360 images, audio\/podcast, SlideShare, images, graphs, drawings and posters.<\/p>\n<p>The design of this blog is supported by eight RRI principles.<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"208\"><strong>Principles<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"393\"><strong>Features<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"208\">Diversity and Inclusion<\/td>\n<td width=\"393\">Through our national and international projects, our blog posts are elaborated to interact with people from all levels of education; valuing diversity in terms of age, gender \u00a0and culture.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"208\">Anticipation and reflexivity<\/td>\n<td width=\"393\">Our posts are written before, during and after events to keep our participants informed and to establish a continuous dialogue space.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"208\">Adaptation and responsiveness<\/td>\n<td width=\"393\">Our\u00a0work is designed to respond to societal needs. It centres on co-creating scientifically new frameworks, methods, and tools for constructing and extending socially knowledge-in-context<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"208\">Transparency and Openness<\/td>\n<td width=\"393\">Our ongoing open research is based on RRI and open Science, linked to ORO (<a href=\"http:\/\/oro.open.ac.uk\/\" >Open Research Online<\/a>) and ORDO (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/library-research-support\/research-data-management\/open-research-data-online\" >Open Research Data Online)<\/a><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p>To celebrate the second year of Rumpus Blog, we are editing a digital multimedia book<\/p>\n<pre><em><strong>\u201cEngaging methods to explore fun in education\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/pre>\n<p>This book organised by Okada, A. Tatlow-Golden M., Fergurson R. &amp; Sheehy K., 2022 is supported by our interactive blogposts.\u00a0 Our objective is to generate a reflective dialogue with our participants about\u00a0 &#8220;engaging methods to explore fun in education&#8221;.
