{"id":740,"date":"2023-03-31T14:45:12","date_gmt":"2023-03-31T13:45:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/rumpus\/?p=740"},"modified":"2023-03-31T20:16:43","modified_gmt":"2023-03-31T19:16:43","slug":"the-green-forum-open-exhibition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.open.ac.uk\/blogs\/rumpus\/index.php\/2023\/03\/31\/the-green-forum-open-exhibition\/","title":{"rendered":"THE GREEN FORUM OPEN EXHIBITION"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>THE OPEN EXHIBITION ABOUT CLIMATE CHANGE AND SUSTAINABILITY EDUCATION\u00a0 (CCSE) was held at the Library on the 27th to 29th of March.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition received two large external audiences.<\/p>\n<p>First on the 27th of March, the Green Forum Network\u00a0 launched the CCSE movement and the green catalogue at the open exibition.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/7a0a0732.flowpaper.com\/CCSE\/#PreviewMode=Miniature\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><span data-mce-type=\"bookmark\" style=\"display: inline-block; width: 0px; overflow: hidden; line-height: 0;\" class=\"mce_SELRES_end\">\ufeff<\/span><\/iframe><br \/>\nThere were members of 20 organisations who attended the event in-person and 24 others who participated online.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.connect-science.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Screenshot-2023-03-31-at-13.45.32.png\" width=\"1186\" height=\"1022\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Second,\u00a0 67 delegates supported by BETT Brazil\u00a0 visited the library to know about the OU projects\u00a0 and green initiatives in Education across the world\u00a0 including funded-research projects led by the UK and Brazil.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.connect-science.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Screenshot-2023-03-31-at-13.46.12.png\" width=\"1154\" height=\"1230\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Various opportunities were discussed to enhance CCSE movement.<\/p>\n<p>See what one of the international visitors\u00a0 <span style=\"font-size: 1rem;\">found about the open exhibition.<br \/>\nThe interview is in Portuguese, but the transcription in Youtube can be automatic generated in English.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube-nocookie.com\/embed\/QW8pJI2bnt0\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>To make the open exhibition interactive and fun; a small group of secondary school students visited the library to explore how to make the exhibition more interactive and fun for young people; supported by Dr. Okada&#8217;s team they developed three activities to engage young visitors:<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Voting on the three best posters.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone \" src=\"https:\/\/www.connect-science.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Screenshot-2023-03-31-at-13.47.31.png\" width=\"345\" height=\"399\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Drawing their views about CCSE learning with fun.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone \" src=\"https:\/\/www.connect-science.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Screenshot-2023-03-31-at-13.47.08.png\" width=\"335\" height=\"219\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Replying to the question\u00a0 &#8220;what are the key challenges of CCSE&#8221;?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The young people highlighted 18 ideas.<\/p>\n<p>key problems: poverty, deforestation; child forced marriage, corrupt government, bad education; car pollution; sea pollution<\/p>\n<p>potential solutions: climate justice; digital literacy, students-centred learning, emergency services; meanigful learning, international collaboration<\/p>\n<p>future-challenges:Where will we get food? How to find solutions for climate change? How will we travel?\u00a0 How can education improve?
