British Library Summer Games Website

British Library Summer Games Website

Kath Woodward's research looks at the contradictions of the Olympic movement. At one level this movement is democratic and inclusive, yet the history of the games is marked by elitism and corruption. Kath has drawn on this research when contributing to the British Library Summer Games Website. This site explores the social meanings of the Olympic Games in the lead up to the 2012 London Olympics. This engagement is significant because the summer games are being held in London and the British Library is a repository of huge amounts of data about the games. This work draws on, animates and thereby makes some of this data more publicly accessible.
