The Open University in Northern Ireland, in partnership with the Department for the Economy, is offering a limited number of fully funded postgraduate courses to help you upskill and reach your career potential.
The Department for the Economy has confirmed that there is no further planned allocation of Skill Up funding beyond the 2025/26 academic year.
Currently, there are no additional funded places available, and we are unable to approve any exceptions or alternative funding requests under this scheme.
If you were planning to study through Skill Up, you can find information on alternative fees and funding options for postgraduate courses on our website or discuss alternative payment options by contacting us.
Should any future or alternative funding schemes become available, details will be shared on our Social Media channels.

Charis talks about her Skill-Up experience with the OU.
The qualification has had a monumental impact on my career. It’s opened doors that I wouldn’t have had access to otherwise. Without the funding, I probably wouldn’t have studied again. It gave me the chance to shift my career and pursue something I was passionate about.
