Financial support for postgraduate students in Wales

There’s never been a better time to join us as a postgraduate student. You could be eligible for a loan of up to £18,950 from Student Finance Wales if you're studying a masters degree.

The support comprises of a non-means-tested maintenance loan worth up to £18,950 over the duration of your qualification which will need to be paid back. Eligibility rules apply for financial support. You must be studying a masters degree which can be completed in no more than three years, although study breaks may be allowed. The loan will be available to masters degree students living in Wales, aged under 60 when the course starts.

Please note that the loan will be paid to you in instalments once you have started studying. Therefore you’ll need to pay for your course fees first in order to register for your qualification. Read more about postgraduate funding in Wales.
