Accessibility statementSome of the module's study materials are online. Online materials are composed of pages of text, which may include images. There are some audio and video clips of 20 minutes long with transcripts, and some diagrams with alternative text. Online materials also include links to external resources, online forums and online tutorial rooms. Printed materials are provided for some module content.
This module provides a range of learning events including face-to-face tutorials. Each face-to-face learning event offers an online (or other) alternative. Although not compulsory, attendance at tutorials will help you consolidate your learning.
You will be required to work with other students. This includes reflecting on others’ comments on your forum posts. You will also carry out an interview with a friend, colleague or another person.
Field-based practical work is a required component of assessment. This includes an interview which aims to support you to develop your ability to consider the perspective of others.
The study materials contain some diagrams and photographs.
You may be required to search for, and make use of, third-party material online.
This module has Tutor-Marked Assignments (TMAs), which must be submitted online via the OU electronic TMA system, and an end-of-module assessment submitted online. If you are concerned about any aspects of assessments, please contact us for advice on alternative assessments and support.
You will receive feedback from your tutor on your submitted Tutor-Marked Assignments (TMAs). This will help you to reflect on your TMA performance. You should refer to it to help you prepare for your next assignment.
All University modules are structured according to a set timetable and you will need time‑management skills to keep your studies on track. You will be supported in developing these skills.
