Principal Lecturer, Employability and Curriculum Design: Sheffield Hallam University

Charmaine is a Principal Lecturer in Employability and Curriculum Design at Sheffield Hallam University with particular interest in the area of Applied Learning and Student Transition. This role involves leading and supporting the integration of employability within curriculum across the institution. In addition, Charmaine leads the Applied Projects specialists that support academic teams to embed real-life projects and activities within their courses. Charmaine and her team were recognised by the Advanced H.E. with a Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence in 2020.The Small Business Charter also recognised the Applied Projects work as an exemplar of best practice. Charmaine won the Enterprise Educators UK award in 2010 for her leadership and innovation. She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
