Dr Jason Brown

Head of Product and Services: Career Ahead, Australia

Dr Jason Brown is the Head of Product and Services for Career Ahead, a private career management company, based in Melbourne, Australia. Jason has over 20 years' experience designing and delivering scalable and innovative career development programs and services in the higher education and employment services industries. He served as head of careers at La Trobe University for 10 years. More recently, as Academic Lead, Employability Curriculum at La Trobe University, Jason designed and coordinated career development and work integrated learning subjects and led an institutional program to embed employability learning activities and assessment tasks into the curriculum.

A leader in the career development profession, he served as Vice-President of the Victorian & Tasmanian division of NAGCAS 2018-2020 and is recipient of the 2018 Career Development Association of Australia’s Excellence in Leadership Award.

With a recently completed PhD, Jason’s continued research interests include investigating the psychosocial factors that contribute to the development of employability, and the changing roles of career development practitioners. Jason’s PhD research was conducted as a member of the Australian Collaboratory for Careers Employability and Learning for Living (ACCELL) at the University of Southern Queensland.
