Laura Brammar

Senior Careers Consultant, The Careers Group: University of London 

Laura Brammar is an award-winning Senior Careers Consultant who has worked with The Careers Group, University of London since 2004.  Laura delivers a range of one-to-one and group careers development support to undergraduates and postgraduates within the UoL Distance and Flexible Learning programmes.  In 2014, Laura was an instructor of the world’s first careers and employability MOOC, Enhance Your Career and Employability Skills, which went on to win the 2014 AGCAS Excellence Award for use of Technology. In 2020, Laura and her colleagues in University of London Careers Service, won the University of London Roger Mills Prize for Innovation and Learning. Laura’s work has been published in a range of professional and academic journals, including the Journal of the National Institute for Career Education and Counselling and the Australian Journal of Career Development. Laura has provided career support and professional development training to a range of organisations including Health Education England, British Medical Association, Royal Central School of Speech of Drama, European Bioinformatics Institute and the Institute of Cancer Research, amongst many others.  Laura has lived and worked overseas, including working for Kinkai Board of Education in Nagasaki, Japan and with the Regional Education Bureau in Awassa, Ethiopia. Laura has an MSc Organisational Behaviour from the School of Management and Occupational Psychology, Birkbeck College, University of London, PG Certificate in Career Development and Coaching, University of Warwick, PGCE Goldsmiths College, University of London and BA English, Royal Holloway, University of London.
