CREATE: Implementing policy to combat uncertainty

Policies deeply affect organisations, communities and individuals and the role of public policies and the importance of public services in our lives have become more prominent in recent times.

Organisations' strategies are deeply affected by government policies and societal challenges, especially when the rules and frameworks in which organisations are settled change. Organisations need to be flexible enough to respond, and as a manager you need to be able to understand the contexts in which your organisation is placed and adjust your strategy in response. Artificial intelligence and, in particular, machine learning can be used as a tool to help you.

In this short course, you will be able to read case studies and watch a number of videos that illustrate how societal challenges and policies are changing and will shape our societies in the next decades. You will also see how science and evidence inform future policies and discover the role of machine learning in providing evidence. You will also have the opportunity to consider how policies and more generally, the macroenvironment,  affect your organisation. You will also  learn to use machine learning software to collect data and evidence.

Unfortunately this course is temporarily unavailable. Please check back on Study at the OU in early 2023 when it will be back online
