Academic Support Assistant, STEM
Research interests: I am interested in the integrity of databases and devising the best way to access available data. I am also interested in the simplification of processes to make life less complicated and encourage others to embrace change.
My data: Sensitive data, big data, interviews.
Why I became a Data Champion: I started work in the OU in February 2020 (working as an Academic Support Assistant in STEM) and came from DWF Law where I was a member of the Firm wide IT Committee working on test sites for the roll out of new systems and processes. I was also a "Superuser" helping others to move to, and appreciate the capabilities of new IT systems/processes.
Becoming a Data Champion at the OU enables me once again to become part of a movement towards the implementation of new IT systems and processes. Very often, when a colleague is snowed under with work and too busy to settle to learn a new system it just takes one person with a little knowledge to help turn a frustrating day into a good one!
