line 5: I have to acknowledge the receipt of a cheque
line 6: from you for £3.16 on acct of books belonging to me
line 7: by Messrs Scribner's hands.
line 8: The stock still with Messrs Scribner amounts
line 9: to £267 – but I observe that of late the sales appear
line 10: to have been small – and moreover that this matter
line 11: like every other, wants the advantage which might be
line 12: given to it by those publishers in business of the kind than
line 13: is possessed by me.
line 14: I would be very glad to have an opinion from you
line 15: if you would kindly favour me with it, as to the desirability
line 16: of the notion of endeavouring to dispose of the entire stock
line 17: alone, in any mode that may be most advisable?
