You said, we did: feedback from recent polls

We asked:
We asked you to help us find a name for the Digital Skills Passport

You said:
The two top poll results were OpenTree and SkillQuest

You added:
You wanted a name that grabs attention, links the institutional name with the project, and incorporates positive branding. You wanted a name that was less academic, and more fun and creative.

We did:
We presented both names to members of the Library Student Panel who took part in user testing focus groups. We provided some initial design ideas, and placed each name in context of the overall ideas.

The panel agreed that OpenTree was the best option. We have chosen this as the overall name. As SkillQuest was also very popular, and liked by the panel, we have chosen to use that name for the games section of the site.

I can find an article I need easily using Google.  Why can’t I get the same article to come up using the library search engine?

We replied:
If you are looking for a specific article you’ve found using Google then you’ve a couple of routes to try :

If you are using Google Scholar you can set up library links to give you a direct link to the resource for journals we subscribe to.  Look at the guidance on the library website.

When you find the article in Google try looking up the name of the journal that the article was published in using the journals search.   If we subscribe to the journal it will be listed there.  A link will take you to the journal and you should be able to find your article by searching their website.

If the journal isn’t listed then it is possible that we don’t have a subscription to it.  Contact the Library Helpdesk for further advice.
