Student Shadowing in the Library

Interested in a behind-the-scenes look at the OU Library? We are seeking participants to Shadow in the Library at the Milton Keynes Campus. You will learn about how the library supports students, staff and researchers in the four nations. This could include seeing how we deliver tutorials on Adobe Connect, how the helpdesk operates 24/7, what goes into usability testing a website or accessibility testing ejournals and ebooks or discussing how content (books, articles and images) fits into module presentation. You will also gain tips, hints and skills that will help you with future studies, and you can share those insights with your peers.

There is an opportunity for two students to visit the Betty Boothroyd Library on Wednesday, 20th March 2019 (and we will offer another date in September). To know more about the initiative and whether you are eligible, please follow this link https://community.open.ac.uk/student-shadowing.  If you want to apply for one of these one-day shadowing opportunities, please complete the form at https://community.open.ac.uk/student-shadowing#target  by Wednesday, 6th February. The students who visited the Library earlier this year found it to be very rewarding.  Take a look at the videos at the bottom of the page to see how they got on:
