Open Theatre Group

A lady in costume singing on stage

The Open Theatre Group usually presents two main productions a year in the Hub Lecture Theatre, usually in May and early December (precise dates will depend on the availability of the space & cast). Other, smaller scale productions in other venues are also possible. Rehearsals generally take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7.30pm and also at weekends near to the performance dates in the Old Lecture Theatre.

The Group encourages performance of a wide variety of plays, and has made a significant contribution to drama in Milton Keynes. It encourages its members to take on non-acting roles, and to develop their theatre skills. There is plenty of support available if you are undertaking a role for the first time, and not to forget that drama can be fun too!

The Group is open to anyone with an interest in theatre, at any level, front or back stage, whether they are employed at the University or not. All are welcome and we hope to have a jolly ripping time!!

There is no membership fee but those involved in productions, the group encourages people to purchase their own scripts, to have fun annotating directions, doodling etc.
